PHOTO: "Tranquility", Brecon Beacons, Wales, UK
This is an old photo of a valley in the Brecon Beacons mountain region in South Wales in the United Kingdom.
It was taken at about 2:00 p.m. in early Autumn as "soggy skies" rolled in to bring intermittent showers between bouts of sunshine through occasional breaks in the clouds.
There's something about Wales that keeps drawing me back to the many photographs I took of that country. Its rugged, simple beauty exudes a peacefulness that you engage with and want to stay with for a while, especially when you're in the actual landscape breathing its fresh air, seeing its wonders, hearing its sounds, smelling its natural fragrances, and feeling the earth.
When My wife and I traveled through the Brecon region we found the silent calm to be a tonic for the madness of city life we left behind.
