PHOTO: Cloud Formation, Australia

 

This is a photo of a cloud formation above my house in Rowville (near Melbourne) in Australia.

The sky and clouds fascinate me. From a photography perspective clouds give the sky character, and their play with sunlight often provides some very interesting points of focus.

When I saw this formation I was immediately struck by the colours (including the sunlight in the trees and the varying greens in the foliage). What grabbed my attention the most was how the cloud formation looked like an eye - the name I gave this image is "God's eye".

While I believe that God does not intervene directly in human affairs on earth, I do believe that as the ONE creator of all, God does watch over everything that happens in the universe. God is not going to fix this earthly realm for us, that's our responsibility - we need to wake up to this truth.

Knowing Gnosis

This world loves labels. For some reason we relate to and understand the world when it is neatly divided into labels. To many, I am labelled a Christian. If that is because I believe Jesus Christ existed and brought an important message to humanity, then, yes, I am a Christian. If it’s because, in my past I attended church regularly, then, no, that is incorrect. Church attendance does not make me Christian. If you really want to label me, please call me a Gnostic. That still makes me Christian because I believe in Jesus Christ, but it also makes me much more. Before we continue, please know that I am not indoctrinated as a Gnostic – no body (like a church) has ordained me in formal ceremony (like baptism or confirmation) to be a Gnostic. I am a Gnostic because I personally choose it in the continuous pursuit of enlightenment (which I have yet to fully attain). Foundations of Faith

  History reflects the ideology of the dominant / ruling class. Actually, let me clarify this statement a little: history reflects the ideology of the governing instrument / institutions of the ruling class. The dominant element of society, which is quite often a minority across the entire population, supports and perpetuates the ideology of the ruling class. Basically the ruling elite maintain their power from the mass-support of a select group of common folk. So, what does any of this have to do with spirituality and faith? Ask yourself: what is the basis of my spiritual belief? If, for example, it is something like the dogma of the Catholic Church, or the fundamentalism of the Islamic religion, then you are subject to the dominant ideology I have spoken about above.
