PHOTO: Autumn Arrives

In the Southern hemisphere at this time of the year (April) it is Autumn. Thankfully the climate is such that we still can enjoy some normality when the seasons change. The image I have chosen for this post is of a pear tree in my front garden in Rowville, Victoria, Australia.

Autumn is my favourite season. Everything is full of life, and the colours are so vibrant, especially at sunset when the soft light of the waning day seems to enhance all shades of yellow, orange, red and brown so that everything seems to be "on fire" and glowing. The sky is bluer (because of the low angle of the sun in the heavens), the light is softer and more golden, and there is more cloud activity, which makes for some very interesting skies. To top it all, the climate is cooler, and the crisp mornings make you feel awake and alive.
