The Destructive Nature of Humanity

Image
When faced with the choice between destruction or conservation, it seems the majority of humanity prefers to follow negative traits. Look at our history, starting with the primordial example of Cain and Abel where one brother killed another out of jealousy and hatred, and continuing into our modern times where nations murder other nations for nothing more than desire to dominate the world and hoard its material wealth. Even today, as I write this article, we live in a world that is hell-bent on environmental destruction under the guise of human prosperity: build your wealth so that you can have as much of whatever you want while pretending that your over-consumption has no impact on the planet we depend upon for life. Why is our “human nature” so depraved? How is “God’s creation” so evil? The first controversial assertion I make (and one you will not want to hear) is that humans are not created by God. We have misinterpreted the history of our origins, and in so doing we have mistakenl...

Foundations of Faith

History reflects the ideology of the dominant / ruling class. Actually, let me clarify this statement a little: history reflects the ideology of the governing instrument / institutions of the ruling class. The dominant element of society, which is quite often a minority across the entire population, supports and perpetuates the ideology of the ruling class. Basically the ruling elite maintain their power from the mass-support of a select group of common folk. So, what does any of this have to do with spirituality and faith? Ask yourself: what is the basis of my spiritual belief? If, for example, it is something like the dogma of the Catholic Church, or the fundamentalism of the Islamic religion, then you are subject to the dominant ideology I have spoken about above. Perhaps you should further ask: what is the truth behind my spiritual faith? Perhaps even: what is faith? To get to the root of true spiritual faith we must transcend doctrines established by the dominant / ruling cl...

Religious or Spiritual?

Image
There is confusion between religion and spirituality, and the many different definitions on what each might mean serve to confuse things even more. Both religion and spirituality typically relate humans to a higher purpose or being, commonly termed God. However, religion and spirituality are vastly different when it comes to how humans exercise their relationship to and with God. Religion is a dogmatic political system of affiliation that governs how followers of that system should conform to practices for the glorification and worship of deities and symbols for those deities. In religion, people are subjects of a worshipful establishment. Religion promotes a “brand” for the various types of affiliation (e.g. Christian; Jew; Muslim; etc.). Religion promotes loyalty to a particular dogma and its brand. For this reason religion can be divisive. Spirituality is impartial in terms of religion – it does not align to a particular set of dogmatic politics or brand of religious worship. In spi...

Transcendence - A Search for Meaning and Hope

Image
Welcome to my new book: "Transcendence - A Search for Meaning and Hope".  This is a book with an important message. If you've felt that the world is not quite right; that things seem not to be working properly and that there must be something better, then you need to read this book. This controversial and provocative book is a mind-altering instrument with hidden power to potentially change how you think about life. It will take you on a journey through time from when modern humans were created (and not as you think) to the current challenging days we live in. Along that journey it will introduce a variety of ancient sacred texts to reveal alternate meanings to the many things humans have been skilfully persuaded over millennia to blindly accept as “the truth”. This book pushes the boundaries of conventional wisdom and comfortable thinking by deeply considering some basic questions many of us take for granted, for example: Where do we come from? Why are we here? Why is ...
