Our Spiritual Mission
Before I write, I pray: may the meditation of my mind and heart, and the words from my mouth be acceptable to you heavenly Father, the ONE true God of all creation.
Thought resides in the mind which, if treated properly, is the conscious realm of soul. Thoughts have the potential to contain power from the spirit. Words emanate from thoughts, and they too contain power. Thus it is important for us to hold truth and integrity in our minds and in our words. For what we think, feel, and speak, makes the world we live in. Our choices bring consequences, not only for us, but for all around us.
While humans were created by the Fallen angels, in the image and likeness of those angels, the soul that was instilled within the human body by the Fallen was devoid of spirit from the ONE true God. After the first humans were created, the ONE true God instilled spirit in the soul of those humans so that they would be capable of receiving enlightenment. Reference to this can be found in the spiritual book (excluded from the Bible) known as the Apocryphon of John (i.e. John the Apostle). Reference to the creation of humans by the Fallen can also be found in ancient Sumerian texts that pre-date the Bible.
Humans did not ask to be created, but had “creation” forced upon them – humans were made to be minions of and for the Fallen. Would it be fair to condemn such beings for being unwitting genetic experiments that gave rise to the human race? Rather than damn humans, the ONE true God took mercy on humans and gave them spirit.
However, after the ONE true God instilled spirit within human souls, the Fallen interfered with humans to block their consciousness of spirit (reference to this can be found in the book of Genesis, as well as the Apocryphon of John). The Fallen did not have power to instil spirit in humans, nor did they have power to take that spirit away. The Fallen interfered with the human mind, which they created, to make it unconscious of the spirit of the ONE that resides in the human soul.
This “unconscious condition” imposed on us by the Fallen is why many humans have difficulty understanding their soul and the spirit that resides within their soul. Human consciousness of soul and the spirit in it has been weakened, and continues to be weakened, by the Fallen. This is done through overlaying consciousness of ego (bodily identity) over soul (spiritual identity), and through casting a veil of unconsciousness over the human mind to block connection to and knowledge of the spirit within us. It is also done by delivering constant major distractions into the human world – social inequality, poverty, famine, wars, disasters, mass media, false news, biased and distorted education, etc. Those major distractions prevent us from focusing our minds on soul consciousness and connection with the spirit. There is too much negative and toxic noise and clutter in our minds for us to think and meditate with peace and clarity.
Furthermore, the ego-driven self-identity associated with our material body is tainted with emotions that are distorted by ego. We “feel” emotions based on our distorted thoughts (perceptions) of the material world and all of the major distractions in it. If we are forced every day to see violence, wars, and conflicts; deception in politics and business; inequality, bias, superiority, discrimination, and hatred in society, and other dysfunctional behaviours, it is inevitable that our feelings will be distorted by those things. Our feelings are another massive distraction for us. Feelings lie between our thoughts and our words and actions. What we receive in the mind as thoughts translates our emotions before forming our thoughts into intentions, which manifest as words and actions.
Often I am troubled with thoughts of how I can live in pursuit of soul consciousness and spiritual enlightenment in this sick and distorted material world of the Fallen. I often ask myself: how can we walk an enlightened path in a world with no direction?
The answer is: we have to make the path.
It is like journeying through uncharted territory – like the ancient mariners who sailed the open seas not sure of their true direction or what, if anything, lay beyond the seemingly endless horizon. We can be true mariners: we can find ways to navigate in true directions with confidence that we will not sail off the edge of the earth. All we have to do is be aware of the dangers that present in our path and have the knowledge and skill for successfully overcoming them. That knowledge and skill comes from what we feed our mind, and how our thoughts influence our emotions, words, and actions.
The other thing we have to do is see that our destination is not in this material world – it lies beyond, in the spiritual realm of the ONE. “Sailing” from this material world to the spiritual realm is polluted with obstacles and pitfalls designed to annihilate our spiritual mission. One example of this can be found in the temptation of Christ (Matthew 4: 1-11) when Christ was meditating on his spiritual mission in the desert – he was pestered by the leader of the Fallen who wanted Christ to fail on his mission. The mission is not easy, and requires constant deep meditation and protection of our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions.
The most formidable obstruction in our journey resides within us – it is that of doubt, and especially self-doubt. When our thoughts and emotions are at their weakest – due to major distractions in this world – the Fallen prey on us to create doubt about the reality of our spiritual mission, and self-doubt within us about our ability to succeed on the mission. The goal of the Fallen is to keep us in the dark – to keep our minds veiled with unconsciousness of soul and the spirit in it.
For us to succeed on our mission we must remain true to the spirit of the ONE that resides within our soul. We must strive to connect our soul with the spirit – everything we do: our thoughts, emotions, words, and actions, must be fed by the spirit of the ONE (“give us this day our daily bread”). The only way that can happen is for us to constantly nurture and protect our relationship with the spirit, just as we might do when we are in a lifelong relationship with a loved and loving partner.
Christ lived as a human in this world of the Fallen and, through enlightenment, found a way to stay true to his spiritual mission. In so doing, he found his way into the spiritual realm of the ONE. Christ showed us the example of exactly how to live in this Fallen world.
In this dysfunctional and rotten world we can be spiritual, in search of enlightenment, without having to completely detach ourselves and live as hermits, or bring on our premature departure from this world. Part of our mission is to seek and deliver clean thoughts, emotions, and actions in all that we do – it will be difficult, but it can be done. We can act to make the world a better place (e.g. not contributing to anger and aggression in social interactions; re-greening desert areas; cleansing the oceans and waterways; cooling the planet; sharing food for the benefit of all without profiteering from it, etc.). Chances are we will be part of a minority trying to do good things, and we will receive much criticism and ridicule for our efforts – that is the way of the Fallen. But we must live with courage and determination – with our sights constantly set on our spiritual destination.
